Jonathan Maurer is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of OPAL Fuels and has co-led the company since it was formed in December 2020. Previously, Mr. Maurer worked for more than thirty years at Fortistar, a privately-owned investment firm that provides capital to build, grow and manage companies that address complex sustainability challenges.
There he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Fortistar’s Investment Team and led all management and investment activities associated with Fortistar’s renewable natural gas, landfill gas to power, and biomass energy investments. Mr. Maurer also served as a member of Fortistar’s management and investment committees. Prior to Fortistar, Mr. Maurer was a commercial banker with JP Morgan Chase & Co.
